Samuel Merritt University’s California School of Podiatric Medicine Receives $100,000 Grant from Bako Medical Educational Foundation, Inc.

Samuel Merritt University’s California School of Podiatric Medicine (CSPM) has received a grant of up to $100,000 over four years from the Bako Medical Education Foundation Inc. (BMEF) for an endowed fund to support scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Podiatric Medicine.

BMEF is supported by Bako Diagnostics, the premier provider of laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic services to podiatrists focusing on nail, skin, wound, soft tissue, and bone of the lower extremity, specializing in anatomic pathology, dermatopathology, podiatric pathology, and podiatric dermatology.

“I am delighted that BMEF has chosen to support our students through scholarships to offset the cost of tuition,” said CSPM Dean Eric Stamps. “These funds will benefit many students and the podiatry profession for decades as our students become active practitioners.”

“BMEF is pleased to provide this grant to CSPM,” said Steven J. Berlin, DPM, FACFAS, a board member and Grants Committee chair of BMEF. “CSPM is an important training institution for our future practitioners. We are honored to contribute toward this important endeavor.”
